Error: iKernel.exe (0x10000), driver installation for EC54 failed

Product: 1slot, 2slot, 4slot with Ecard 54 or Ecard 34
Computer Platform: Laptop
Operating System: Windows XP

 

Problem:

After downloading the driver and ran setup.exe the following error occurs: Error installingiKernel.exe: (0x10000) (attachment), and the Install Shield Wizard waits.  If I install directly from *\PC\Express Card\setup.exe the installation seems to do and asks for a restart, but the yellow interrogation mark in the device manager is always visible, e.i. the driver was not insalled.

What is wrong? Could you please help me?

 

Solution

The solution was to install the driver from Internet Explorer not from Firefox.
