Host Computer is unable to detect PCIe cards that are installed in EB7-X8

Last Updated: Sep 29, 2016 05:08PM PDT

Product: EB7-X8
Computer: Desktop / Workstation / Server
Operating System: Windows XP
Application: Any PCIe cards

Problem:
Unable to detect PCIe card installed in EB7-X8. Windows Device Manager sees no PCIe cards installed in the Magma unit although there's a PCIe card installed.

Problem Found:
PCIe card reset / clock signal conflicts with the HotPlug function / feature on the EB7-X8.

Solution:
Disable the HotPlug feature on the EB7-X8.
Look for SW120 on the expansion backplane located inside the Magma unit. The default dip switch #4 is set to enable.

You have to move the switch#4 from enable to disable as shown from the attached picture.
